JOB SUMMARY Lab Technician(s) at Boeing EnCore Interiors are involved in nearly every aspect of product testing and analysis.
From research and development to process control monitoring, qualification, and certification, testing at BEI-Seal Beach supports every facility and nearly every program.
Lab Technicians run not only mechanical testing machines to determine material properties, but also perform a variety of routine physical tests on prepregs, adhesives, plastics and other received goods in support of quality inspections.
Lab Technicians at BEI-Seal Beach work closely with Boeing Engineering Unit Members (EUMs) to perform Boeing approved flammability testing, such as Multipurpose Bunsen Burner Testing, FAA/NBS Smoke Density Testing, and FAA/OSU Heat Release Testing.
SUMMARY OF JOB DUTIES Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions Set-up, conduct and monitor mechanical testing, including data acquisition systems.
Maintain test equipment and fixtures in good working order.
Read and understand test plans Follow internal test facility manual, procedures, work instructions, etc.
Maintain and manage internal testing schedule Coordinate with engineers Monitor and document test results GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS - Education, Knowledge, and Experience Education:
High School Diploma Pursuit of technical degree or trade certification (desired)
Experience:
None required.
Skills:
Independent Professional Mechanically inclined (familiar with shop tools) Fluent in English (written, oral and presentation) Preferred Skills/
Experience:
CAD experience MS Office (Excel, Word, etc) Other:
May be asked to work extended or irregular hours as required.
Must show proof of ability to work in the United States.

PROBLEM SOLVING Able to observe and identify issues, understand the causal effects of the situation, evaluate the options and/or tools to remedy the problem, capable of implementing actions to avoid and/or prevent recurrence of the problem.
LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
