Facilities Mechanic - Entry Level

Responsibilities:

  • Oversees mechanical service calls and in-house repairs throughout facility and grounds, and determines necessary repair work.
  • Create, plan and complete work order in CMMS.
  • Monitors work in one or more maintenance trades including electrical, HVAC, plumbing and routine equipment repair and installation of office fixtures.
  • Acts as the interdepartmental liaison between the calibration team and supported groups, coordination scheduling issues, resolving calibration-related problems, and providing technical support , as required to all groups internal/external.
  • Leads calibration program and repairs instruments, including troubleshooting of equipment and system malfunctions, ensuring compliance with good manufacturing practices (GMP).
  • Provides technical training and guidance to staff members.
  • Monitors and operates the Building Maintenance System (BMS).
  • Responsible for timely execution and compliance for related PMs; supports department work order system program.
  • Defines facility SOPs and other appropriate procedures to ensure high reliability of department documentation and procedures.

Scope:

  • Uses ability as a skilled specialist to contribute in development of concepts and techniques and to complete tasks in creative and effective ways.
  • Works on assignments that are extremely complex in nature where independent action and a high degree of initiative are required in resolving problems and developing recommendations.
  • Acts independently to determine methods and procedures on new assignments and may provide guidance and oversee the activities of other support personnel

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • Associates Degree in a technical discipline or equivalent.
  • 2 years of related experience.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work five, eight hour days. Preferably day shift.
  • Driven demeanor, curious, flexible, and a team player.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time
  • Intermittent walking to gain access to work areas
  • Finger dexterity sufficient to use a computer and to complete paperwork activities
  • Vision sufficient to use a computer, to read written materials and to complete paperwork activities;
  • Hearing sufficient to communicate with individuals by telephone and in person
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds. Limited exposure to (2 C - 8 C); (-20 C); (-75 C); (-196 C) areas.
  • Must have the ability to work around laboratories, manufacturing areas and equipment, and regularly lift 10 20 lbs and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • May be required to work alternate shifts
  • Ability to gown aseptically for work in Clean Room environments
  • Job performed in a lab, office, or utility (noisy) environment
  • Must have the ability to work around laboratories, manufacturing areas and equipment with exposure to blood, blood products or OPIM (other potentially infectious materials) while donning required personal protective materials.


Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
